The Osterville Village Association (OVA) and the Osterville Business and Professional Association (OBPA) recently came together to demonstrate their shared commitment to the wellbeing of local children by presenting a $1,000 donation to Cape Kid Meals, a nonprofit organization based right here in Osterville.
Each organization contributed $500, and the joint donation was presented to Susan Pearson, Program Development Manager of Cape Kid Meals, by Peter Hansen, President of the Osterville Village Association, and Cyndy Cotton, Chair of the Osterville Business and Professional Association.
Cape Kid Meals plays a critical role in addressing childhood food insecurity on Cape Cod by providing nutritious food to children who may not have reliable access to meals outside of school hours. Working in partnership with schools, volunteers, and community supporters, the organization ensures that students have food for weekends and school breaks—times when many families face increased challenges.
“Cape Kid Meals represents the very best of what a local nonprofit can do,” said representatives from both associations. “Their work has a direct and meaningful impact on children and families in our community and beyond, and we are proud to support their mission.”
The Osterville Village Association is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the character, vitality, and quality of life in Osterville through civic engagement, stewardship, and community-focused initiatives. The Osterville Business and Professional Association, a committee of the OVA, supports local businesses and professionals while fostering collaboration and economic strength within the village.
Cape Kid Meals relies on the generosity of donors and community organizations to sustain its programs and expand its reach. Contributions like this one help ensure that children across Cape Cod have access to the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
